We believe that there is much more to an African safari than being driven around in a vehicle while passively viewing animals. In some essential way the picture is not complete; somehow the story line is missing. In combining the ultimate itinerary with an expert guide, we create the complete journey.
We have the dedication and the knowledge to provide our guests with the definitive African experience, one that challenges hearts, minds and souls, one that turns a great safari into an extra-ordinary one.
The discerning traveller to Africa expects a compelling and experienced guide who is able not only to unravel a wilderness adventure that exceeds their dreams, but also to host their stay in a cultured, informed and charming manner. The quality of your guide, quite simply, makes or breaks your safari.
All our guides are naturalists and know the African bush intimately. They have an amazing knowledge of the African wilderness and its people. Their appreciation of the diverse cultures of the world, and the needs of their guests allows them to deliver the ultimate safari. Here are some of our top rated guides in Africa.
Beks Ndlovu, Ian Batchelor and Nic Polenakis, all Directors at African Bush Camps, can be booked as private safari guides either for your stay in a camp, or to accompany you on a tailor-made safari itinerary.
Eric Grauss guides special photographic safaris that can be arranged on special request.
Pilot Manga is a resident guide within our Botswana operations, whilst Isaac Seredile and Okwa Sarefo can both be booked for private guided safaris.
Fisher Ngwerume is our Head Guide at Kanga Camp and Zambezi Life Styles and his experience of the Zambezi River and its surrounding areas is exceptional. Sean Hind is available for privately guided safaris throughout Zimbabwe.
Doug Lawrence and Raymond Ndlovu our resident guides at Somalisa. Dardley Tarafuka can be booked on private guided safaris throughout Zimbabwe.
Having a private guide allows you the option of incorporating a traditional first class mobile safari into your itinerary, thereby ensuring complete exclusivity. These safaris are based on the classic Hemingway-style safari of the early 1900’s, with exceptional standards of comfort and service. This style of safari is particularly suited to those who seek privacy or wish to travel with a select group.
The benefit of a privately guided safari is that it does not confine you to a set schedule, but rather offers the flexibility to make the absolute best of each day; walking, talking and learning, game driving, bird watching and maybe doing a little bit of nothing at all.
Our partner safari companies and their team of top safari guides present Africa to you in a unique manner, sharing their passion and knowledge with you and leaving you with unforgettable experience that will last you a life time.
