Anti-poaching, monitoring, darting, dehorning and translocation were all part of daily life.
Nic is one of the few guides who hold guides licences in Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe, and has nearly 15 years of experience in the tourism industry. He has owned his own successful luxury tented safari companies in both Zimbabwe and Botswana, managed lodges such as Camp Amalinda in Zimbabwe and Chichele Presidential Lodge in Zambia, conducted high profile survivor walking trails where all provisions were carried on your back, with no back up, sleeping under the stars in big game country and he has helped develop and promote safaris in community areas in order for local communities to benefit.
Today Nic and his wife Tracey live in Bulawayo Zimbabwe where they are part owners of African Bush Camps (Our partners). Nic continues to specialise in private guided safaris through their own unique camps in Zimbabwe, Botswana and other parts of Africa.
Nic Polenakis
Private Safari Guide
Nic was born in Zimbabwe and was exposed to the great out doors from an early age.
After completing six years of higher education in a bush orientated boarding school. Nic soon followed his heart and dreams and began work as an apprentice hunter guide on a Black Rhino conservancy where he worked closely with the Santiago Zoo in an intensive research project of these animals.
