Wild, untouched Africa under canvas in a remote private concession within the Linyanti area, offering a down to earth adventure for small groups and independent travellers.


The search for unique wildlife sightings will heighten your senses and take you back to the original days of safari in a tent. Birding, tracking herds of buffalo and watching the majestic lion are a few highlights which could be enjoyed whilst staying at Saile Tented Camp.

Access

 

 

  • How to get there? - by charter flight to Saile airstrip from another camp or a regional location – the most usual being Maun (1h) or Kasane (35mn) – and then be transferred by 4WD (about 1h drive) into camp.- by road transfer: from Kasane (4h), Khwai (5h) or Maun (8h)- Self drive is possible but recommended only for experienced 4×4 drivers.   • Camp opens: from the 1st of April to the 31st October (shoulder and dry seasons), unless specially requested for a specific date in green season.

 

 

Wildlife & Activities

 

  • The environment: As one of the most attractive areas in the park and with the only source of water during the dry months, the Linyanti Marsh attracts diverse species of game. The Camp

 

The remoteness of the camp, coupled with its intimate size, make it a perfect setting for a personalized safari experience for small groups or private families. The Meru-style tents provide a luxurious yet authentic camping experience.

 

  • Camp situation: Saile Tented Camp sits within the Linyanti Concession above the ancient riverbed of the Linyanti Marsh.

 

  • Capacity: 6 tents with a total of 12 beds. Saile Tented Camp is fit for private and personal safari experiences, and it can be booked for a minimum of 2 people travelling.

 

  • Accommodation: Luxury tented camp. The tents are walk-in Meru-style tents, which are spacious in the interior (6x4m); and are furnished with comfortable twin beds and bedside tables, a hanging canvas wardrobe, luggage bench and sisal matting. En-suite bathroom facilities are fitted with a flush toilet and a zip-up door leading through to an open-air bucket shower, that offers excellent views of the stars at night.

 

  • Facilities: The main area is made up of an open-sided canvas marquee that has been fitted with comfortable and stylish furniture: antique loungers, hammocks, large mirrors and small, stylish touches.

 

  • Cuisine: you will enjoy early morning breakfast before the first game drive and a full brunch with fresh meals on return, as well as afternoon tea and cakes, bar snacks and drinks with the sunset, followed by a 3-course dinner under canvas.

 

  • Eco-respect: this camp operates with minimum technology, and no electricity is available, yet light is provided through lamps in the tents. A large tin jug and basin are provided in the bathrooms and canvas washbasins on each private veranda.

 

  • Communications: The camp can communicate by radio or satellite phone in case of emergency.
